Stretching Into Something New

Hey there, and welcome to Big Stretch Yoga!

I've been practicing yoga since 2012, but I just recently completed my 200-hour teacher training. I've always had a busy mind, and Yoga gave me something I didn't even know I needed—a way to slow down, to breathe, and to stop caring so much about what other people thought.

Throughout my military journey—where everything can shift in an instant—my Yoga practice has been my anchor. It gave me focus when things felt chaotic. It made me resilient before I even knew what resilience really meant.

So, why “Big Stretch”? You're right—yoga is so much more than stretching. But the name comes from the most resilient creatures I know: my cats. And let's be honest — who doesn't love saying “biiiiig streeetch!” when a cat stretches out? Cats just know who they are; they show up unapologetically as themselves — even if they're chasing dust (true story). I aspire to be that way. Their names are Kali and Damascus, and you’ll probably see them pop up now and then—and maybe even in a class or two.

I created Big Stretch Yoga to be a space for real community—for anyone craving more kindness, more connection, and more calm in a loud world. I'm working on yoga classes, meditations, and challenges to help us stay grounded and grow together.

This blog will be a little behind-the-scenes, a little art, a little travel, and a lot of heart. I'll keep you updated on my journey—and I hope you'll share yours, too.
